Who is seen?

All students who are identified by the school as needing additional support or legal paperwork such as EHC Plans identifying areas of need in:

  • Making/maintaining friendships

  • Language development

  • Social communication skills

  • Play skills

  • Speech sounds

  • Attention and Listening

  • Functional Communication

  • Emotional Regulation and awareness

How is support implemented?

  • Collaborative working with teaching staff and support assistants

  • Training programmes to support language, social skills and communication in the classroom

  • Small social skills groups (needs dependent)

  • 1:1 individual sessions (needs dependent)

  • Integrates speech and language skills into the school/classroom curriculum

  • Combines speech and language therapy targets with school attainment and progress

Provision:

  • Setting and review of targets

  • EHCP outcomes support

  • Assessment/therapy reports (where required)

  • Act as an additional resource in the classroom

  • Support and guidance for parents/carers

  • Support communication environment

Duration: Half day/Full day
